Whispers at Dusk is a forty foot long glass mural, installed in two parts, framing the lower entrance of NYU Langone’s new hospital complex in Garden City, NY. The mural was commissioned by the NYU Langone Art Program and Collection and fabricated in collaboration with Glasmalerie Peters Studios in Germany.

Whispers at Dusk spans eight non-reflective glass panels that are printed with multiple layers of digital UV print combined with glass etching done by hand to reflect the brushstrokes and textures of the original painting. Whispers at Dusk seeks to capture the evanescent quality of grey, purple, and pink forms that appear like mysterious drawings in the sky at twilight.

NYU Langone Health operates a formal Art Program and Collection that incorporates artwork into its healing environments across its campuses (including ambulatory care centers and hospital buildings). The goals are to enhance patient experience, provide visual comfort, and integrate high-quality art into health care spaces.
